Clinical Service
• Increase in clients and vaccinations since last fiscal year

• 3.2% increase in clients served

• 39.7% increase in vaccines administered
The Tulsa Health Department resumed its travel vaccine services in June 2024, offering clients  individualized consultations, health-related prevention education and vaccine recommendations for their travel plans.
Remodel at James O. Goodwin Health Center
The clinic site remodel will improve accessibility and include enhancements in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The clinic waiting areas will be consolidated to maximize the use of the space and clinical service exam rooms will undergo a complete refresh.
The appointment template for the James O. Goodwin Health Center was modified to accommodate less clients in the last week of June 2024, allowing staff time to prepare for the upcoming remodel. This change impacted services for Family Planning, Immunizations, Adult Health and STI. The remodel is scheduled to begin in the new fiscal year and is expected to be completed by July 2025.

Family Planning Visits: 3,887
Title X federal funds were no longer available to the state for family planning services during the fiscal year. The Title X program helps to provide young and low-income families with access to comprehensive family planning and reproductive health care services at low cost or no cost. The loss of these funds has impacted the Tulsa Health Department's ability to confidentially offer comprehensive family planning services.
Family Planning services remain available to minors with parental consent. Minors may also self-consent for services if they meet specific criteria such as legally emancipated, living independently from their parent/guardian, being married, or having children.
Colposcopies: 62
Dysplasia services for abnormal pap smears are offered in our Adult Health Services program. This program is vital for individuals who are uninsured or underinsured to access colposcopy services.

Health Screenings: 6,459
The clinical lab performed venous and capillary venipunctures for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), syphilis, complete blood count (CBC), comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP) and uric acid, lipid, A1C, hemoglobin, newborn screenings and lead screenings.

Sexually Transmitted Infections Visits: 6,061
STI clinic visits have continued to increase for another year. The THD Central Regional Health Center location has added a “Fast Track” option that streamlines visits for clients who are asymptomatic and require a non-Registered Nurse/Provider visit type.
Tuberculosis Visits: 5,797
THD continues to work to meet the National TB Indicator Goals which include initiating treatment within seven days for individuals with test results showing active disease, completing treatment within 12 months and seeing refugees within 30 days of arrival.
Provision of Nurses for the Oklahoma Caring Van Program
The Tulsa Health Department has a long-standing partnership with the Oklahoma Caring Foundation to reduce access barriers and provide free immunizations to children across Tulsa County. The Oklahoma Caring Foundation's Caring Vans travel to licensed childcare centers, schools and community locations throughout the year. Additionally, the Caring Vans traveled to areas affected by severe weather such as the windstorms to offer Tdap vaccines to individuals impacted by the storm and those involved in the cleanup efforts.
Promoting Public Health Prevention Across Tulsa County
The THD Community Immunization Team provided vaccines and vaccine information to the community. This effort included the distribution of the following items at community events and the supply to partner locations:
• COVID-19 home test kits
• Condoms
• Naloxone and fentanyl test strips
